Back in the old days, the park food at Disney was super pricey, and frankly, kinda gross. At best you might be able to score a decent burger and fries for triple the McDonald’s price and half the quality.
Over the last decade or so, Disney has really stepped up their game. The restaurants are beautifully themed and intricately detailed, the menu’s are cleverly designed to match the environment. The names of the dishes and treats usually play on words for their location or overall theme. It’s actually a really enjoyable experience.
Notre Préféré
It’s probably no surprise, but Our favorite lunch spot is “Be Our Guest” located in Belle’s castle.
The menu is French-American. Its easy on all palates and actually a really good value.
La Vue
The view inside “Be Our Guest” is spectacular. It’s themed after the inside of the Beasts castle from Beauty and the Beast. The only way to get in is if you’re eating there. To eat there, you typically need a reservation – but walk ups are taken when available.
The main ballroom looks regal, but magical windows show the snowfall outside. The ceiling is detailed with a hand painted mural featuring cherubs. There are 2 additional, smaller dining rooms.
The West wing, modeled after the Beasts lair is darker and “spookier”. There’s a rose in a glass container, and a claw marked portrait.
The East wing is much brighter, and features a model of the beast.
La Nourriture
We’ve dined inside be our guest for Lunch and Dinner. We really preferred lunch.
Dinner is pricey and mediocre. Part of the cost is that “The Beast” wanders around to meet guests. We didn’t see him (but didn’t want to either). The fare for dinner was pretty hardy and the portions were average.
Lunch is another experience all together. The portions are more than adequate to share, but we never do. The sandwiches are made on fresh baguettes, the croque monsieur is authentic. It’s obvious when eating there that everything is freshly made. From the bread to the cheese, it’s enjoyable.
Cost wise, lunch is significantly cheaper than dinner, and it’s a much bigger portion.
“The Grey Stuff” is only served during dinner. You’re not missing much. The master’s cupcake, which is only served during lunch is much better. We’ve actually gone there just to order a cupcake before
