There have been so many changes to the fast pass system at Hollywood Studios just in the last few weeks.
Recently, we’ve seen Toy Story Mania and Alien Swirling Saucers fall out of the Tier 1 list. Tower of Terror and Rockin’ Roller Coaster also went back to the general pool.
Slinky Dog Dash remained in the Tier 1 List and was joined by the initial release of fast passes for the Star Wars, Galaxy’s Edge ride: Smuggler’s Run.
On March 4th, Mickey’s Runaway railway was released and also entered the Tier 1 Pool.
Starwars: Rise of the Resistance is in a digital boarding state and doesn’t currently have fastpasses.
Main Rides
The Tier One list has an incredibly small pool of rides, all of them exceedingly popular (and that is unlikely to change in the near future). If you can snag one of these, great. Take whichever one. Slinky or Runaway railway typically have the longest wait, and do not offer single rider lines. Smuggler’s Run does offer a Single Rider option and may be the least valuable of the passes in terms of time savings.
General Attractions
The second tier of attractions at Hollywood Studios really leaves a lot to be desired. Due to the 1 Tier 1, 2 Tier 2 Fastpass rules, nearly everything fills up.
Most of the attractions at hollywood studios are shows, the few rides that do exist fill up almost immediately.
Since Mickey’s Runway was released, I’ve refreshed the app for hours and have not seen any rides besides evening “Alien Swirling Saucers”. Even on a random Tuesday, there’s very slim pickin’s.
Frankly, it seems as though last minute Hollywood Studio’s passes are a thing of the past.
If you can get these early, Toy Story Mania, Rockin’ Roller Coaster, and Tower of Terror are the toughest to get. You should be able to get day of fast passes for any show you may be interested, but getting a pass for any of these rides will be difficult.
